Lesson 2 - DCP's

In last weeks lesson we learnt what is a 'meme' and how they are used, published, created and ect.

In this lesson we are learning what DCP's are, and what they stand for.

http - Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. It is the technology that is used to communicate between web servers and web users.

WAP - Wireless Application Protocol. This means a set of protocols connection mobile phones to the internet.

GSM - Global System for Mobile Communications.

3G - 3rd Generation. This is used for mobile phones to use for better and faster internet.

MMS - Multimedia Messaging Service. MMS enables mobile phones to send and receive pictures and sound clips.

GPRS - General Packet Radio Services. This is to enhance 2G phones to help them send data such as texts and pictures more quickly.

Bluetooth - Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows you to exchange data such as pictures, videos and contacts in a short distance.

ADSL - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. A set of protocols that allows high speed internet access over copper telephone lines, this is possible by the signals are sent digitally instead of analog.

Broadband - Broadband refers to telecommunication

VoIP - Voice over Internet Protocol. This is a communications protocol that allows for telephonic communication over the internet. A term for a set of facilities used to manage the delivery of voice information over the internet.
